These tacos are a masterpiece of contrasting flavours; cool watercress, peppery radish, crispy beef and creamy avocado.
Ingredients
1 1 1/2 lb (750 g) shaved steak
2 jalapenos, cut into 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) chunks
1 onion, quartered
1/2 cup (125 mL) Old El Paso™ Hot Taco Sauce
3 tbsp (45 mL) lime juice
8 Old El Paso™ Medium Soft Flour Tortillas (6-inch)
1 1 1/2 cups (375 mL) watercress
1 bunch radishes, sliced
2 avocados, diced
50 g shredded Mexican cheese
Instructions
In a resealable bag or marinating container, combine the 1/2 lb shaved steak, jalapenos, onion, OLD EL PASOᵀᴹ hot taco sauce and lime juice. Seal, then gently massage the bag or stir so every piece of steak is coated in the taco sauce and lime juice. Refrigerate and marinate overnight or up to 48 hours for best flavor.
When ready to cook, prepare your grill according to manufacturer's instructions. Spray a grill basket with nonstick grill spray, then place it on the grill. Add all the contents of the marinating container (including the jalapenos and onion) to the basket. Using tongs, continuously toss the meat and vegetables so they cook evenly until the steak is fully cooked through and starting to crisp around the edges.
Warm the tortillas on the grill or according to package directions until pliable. Divide the cooked meat, onions and jalapenos evenly among the tortillas. Top each taco with 1/2 cups watercress, thinly sliced bunch radishes, sliced or diced avocados and shredded Mexican cheese. Serve immediately while the steak is hot and the tortillas are warm.
